How to get to The Mercantile

Is this hotel centrally located?

The Mercantile Hotel boasts a prime city centre location just minutes from the city’s top attractions like Temple Bar, The Spire, and Trinity College Dublin.

How can I get to The Mercantile Hotel from the airport?

By Taxi: Taxis are available directly outside the arrival terminal. The journey takes 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic.

By Bus: The Air Coach and Dublin Express both offer direct services from both Terminal 1 & 2 to the city centre.

Is there on-site parking at The Mercantile?

We do not have onsite car parking; however we are pleased to offer a discounted parking rate of €20 per day at the Trinity Street Car Park, located only two minute’s walk from the hotel. Please note that this car park is independently operated and we kindly advise guests to check the car park’s opening hours directly to ensure it suits your travel plans. To avail of the discounted rate, please enquire at our front desk.

What transport options are available near the hotel?

We have bus stops right outside the hotel for getting around the city, and the Dublin Bus Hop-On Hop-Off service is just a 1-minute walk away. Tara Street DART Station, with trains to Bray, Howth, Dún Laoghaire, and Dalkey, is only a 13-minute walk from the hotel.

How can I order a taxi?

There’s a taxi stand just a 1-minute walk from the hotel, and we also have reliable ride-hailing services like Uber and Free Now for added convenience.

Are all rooms accessible by lift?

Yes, all our guest rooms are accessible by lift, ensuring easy and convenient access for all our guests.

Can I pay in cash throughout the hotel?

For bedroom bookings and accommodation charges, we do not accept cash payments; these must be settled by card or other electronic methods. However, cash payments are accepted in our bar and restaurant for your convenience.

Is there a hairdryer & iron in the bedroom?

All our rooms are equipped with a hairdryer and a steamer for your convenience. However, we do not provide irons in the rooms. If you need an iron, please contact our front desk, and we will be happy to assist you.

What times are reception open at?

The Mercantile Hotel reception is open 24 hours a day. Our friendly team is always available to assist you, whether you are checking in late, need local recommendations, or have any questions during your stay.

Do you offer early check-in or late check-out?

Early check-in or late check-out is available upon request, subject to availability and with additional charges. Please contact the front desk if you wish to avail of this.

What time is check-in & check-out at?

Check-in time is from 4:00 PM, and check-out time is by 11:00 AM.

Can I vape in my room?

No, smoking and vaping are prohibited within the premises.

What room types do you offer?

We offer Cosy Doubles, Standard, Deluxe, Executive Double or Twin with amenities including air conditioning, a smart TV, a minibar, and a coffee/tea-making station.

Drink and Dine at the Mercantile

How can I make a reservation for lunch or dinner?

Guests and visitors are welcome to make lunch or dinner reservations at our restaurant. We recommend booking in advance to ensure availability, especially during busy periods. You can reserve a table by contacting the hotel directly or by clicking here.

What are the opening hours for the Bar & Restaurant?

The Mercantile Bar & Restaurant is open daily from 12:00 PM to 9:00 PM for lunch and dinner, with the bar remaining open until late.

What time is breakfast served?

Breakfast is served Monday – Friday from 7:00 AM to 10:30 AM, and Saturday & Sunday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM, in our restaurant. If you need an early breakfast, please let our team know in advance, and we will be happy to accommodate you.

Is there a residents’ bar?

Yes, we have a dedicated residents’ bar where guests can relax and enjoy a selection of drinks in a comfortable setting. It is exclusively available to hotel guests until 3 AM.

What kind of food does the Mercantile Restaurant serve?

The Mercantile Bar and Restaurant have created an elevated Gastro dining experience serving food approachable to all tastes. Using 100% Irish Meats and fresh produce, their elevated take on classic bistro dishes have created a rich and memorable menu with vegan, coeliac and vegetarian options available.

What is there to do near the hotel? 

Catching one of the 20 major bus routes from Dame Street, there are 100’s of things to do nearby. Within 15 minutes walking distance, walk around Trinity College and the Book of Kells, tour the National Museum of Ireland and the National Gallery, visit The Little Museum of Ireland or Dublin Castle and the Chester Beatty Library. Grab a pint of Guinness or Guinness 00 in Temple Bar before seeing the Spire and the GPO on O’Connell Street.
